Our most popular pickup of all time is the JB Model humbucker. It has always sounded perfect for a wide range of genres, including blues, country, fusion, punk, hard rock, grunge, and thrash, and has remained just right as new genres emerged. The JB Model offers a full and powerful low end, crisp and detailed highs, and an upper-midrange bump that adds crunch and chunk to heavy chords. When playing single notes or solos, this bump translates to a singing, vocal-like quality. Furthermore, the hot output pushes your amp just a little bit harder for more sustain and harmonics. For different tones, you can pair it with either a 500k or 250k volume pot. The JB Model is also compatible with the Jazz or ’59 neck pickups, and some players even use it in the neck position for an extra-fat solo tone. Hand-built in our Santa Barbara, CA factory, the JB Model uses an Alnico 5 bar magnet, nickel silver bottom plate, 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options (series, parallel, and split coil), and is vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance. For nearly four decades, the legendary JB Model has been the ultimate hot-rodded humbucker, a truly modern classic.
