The Black Winter Set was created for extreme metal guitarists, catering to the underground styles of Black Metal and Death Metal. It is as dark and vicious as the Scandinavian winters, offering excessive grime and aggression. The pickups are designed to provide the right balance of mids, treble, and bass, allowing for seamless transitions from annihilating riffs to solos with cutting articulation. The tone of the Black Winter is characterized by crushing distortion, punishing mids, and aggressive saturation, with high string sensitivity.

The neck and bridge pickups are calibrated for a balanced assault, meeting the needs of extreme metal guitarists. Hand-built in Santa Barbara, CA, the Black Winter is available in standard 6-string size, as well as 7 & 8-string passive mount with naked coils, or in Active ‘Soapbar’ Mount with exposed pole pieces. The pickups come with a 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options and are vacuum wax potted for squeal-free operation. They feature ceramic magnets and 4c shielded cable, with a 16.6 DCR.
